This Mindfulness MBSR course starts at 6pm on Sunday 5th May and finishes after breakfast on Sunday 12th May

The training is ideal for any professionals with a mind-body focus who wish to teach the 8-week Mindfulness MBSR Course or mindfulness-based approaches. Teachers, psychologists, caregivers, mental health professionals, HR managers, yoga or meditation teachers, counsellors, therapists, physicians, nurses or any other professionals are all welcome.

The underpinning experience and understanding from the accredited Level 1 course is also valuable for those who wish to integrate mindfulness into their work or teach mindfulness in a different form including Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy MBCT.

This course can be taken as a Vocational Training, Continued Professional Development (CPD) or Continued Education Units (CEU) with accredited hours to add to your annual training record and sought after skills on your curriculm vitae.

Fee options 

Subsidised Rate – This is a self-select funded rate whereby your place will be financially supported.  Please only select this rate if you are in receipt of benefits or would find it otherwise inaccessible to attend due to the fee. We will not ask for evidence of benefits or income at this stage but may ask for evidence to support your claim in the future. This offer has been created especially to help Eastern European attendants (although other may use it, too).

Standard Rate – This is the market rate for this type of event and the rate we ask you to select if you are able.

Who is the course suitable for?

The Level 1 course is intended for people who are:
  • A minimum of 25 years old.
  • Have 1 years meditation experience, not necessarily Mindfulness Meditation*.
  • Commitment to an ongoing daily personal mindfulness-based practice, based on MBSR/MBCT practices
  • The course starts from the premise that as teachers we need to embody mindfulness-based practice in our own lives, before we can attempt to teach it to others so you should have taken an 8 Week MBSR or MBCT course as a participant either –
    • In your home location with a qualified teacher OR
    • Take the Mindful Academy International Live Online 8 Week MBSR Course and be guided by Director of Training Kathy Ward. There is a 100 euro discount if you book and pay for the 8 week MBSR Course at the same time as booking the Foundation course
  • *Please note: If you wish to register with the Yoga Alliance Professionals on graduation you will need 2 years meditation experience.

How to apply for a space on the course

Please complete and return the application form. Once completed please email to András Barta at andras@mindful.works or Kathy Ward at mindfulacademyint@gmail.com. We normally reply within 24-48 hours.

On acceptance we ask that you pay a 200 euro non-refundable deposit, the balance is then due 2 months before the course starts.

When the deposit has been received we will send you the pre-course study which includes the Mindful Academy International Trauma-informed resources and mindfulness scripts, mp3 recordings of all the practices and study guides. We will also arrange your first supervision session to help you start your teacher training pathway. 8 weeks before the course starts you will also receive a weekly email from us to support your preparation and an invite to the live online MBI-TAC workshop to explore the 6 domains of teaching mindfulness.

Getting here

The course is held Villa Malom (Villa “the Mill”) formerly a working watermill located in Dömös, one of the most picturesque and appreciated hiking areas of the Danube Bend. The guesthouse is in the forest at the bank of the Malom stream right along the hiking trail that leads to the ravine called Rám-szakadék. For more pictures please visit www.domosvendeghaz.hu

The distance between Dömös and Budapest is 45 km, Visegrád is 6 km away. The village can be conveniently reached by the county road 11, but many visitors take buses or seasonal river cruises to reach this little picturesque village.

The guesthouse is at 50 Királykúti utca, roughly 500 meters away from the center, if you follow the red, yellow or green hiking trails towards Rám-szakadék.

Getting there by car: Dömös is a 45–60-minute drive from Budapest on Road 11. After the Forestry gate at Királykúti utca you need to cross the little green bridge on the left. You can park your car at the court of the guesthouse.

Getting there by public transport: buses from Budapest to Dömös are frequent and they take the trip in 90 minutes. Bus station in Budapest is M3 Metro Station Újpest-Városkapu.

Getting there from Budapest airport: From the airport you can choose a train departing at Metro Station Nyugati pu. or bus 100E departing at Metro Station Deák tér. In either way you get access to Metro Line M3, so you can get to the bus station (see above). Allow at least 2 h 30 min from the aiport to Dömös.
